Phil Hugh is Chief Development Officer for Red Roof. With some 25 years’ of experience in the hospitality industry Hugh joined the company in 2013 and has been helping grow the Red Roof brand through franchise development, portfolio management, operations support, branding and mergers. There are now some 550 properties in the United States that encompass the Red Roof Inn and Red Roof Plus+ brands, along with the chain’s soft brand, The Red Collection, and its new extended-stay offering, HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof, as well as international representation. Previously, Hugh served in executive roles, including as EVP/Worldwide Franchise Sales, Realogy Franchise Group; president/CEO, Development Opportunity Corp.; and at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ predecessors, Cendant Corp. and HFS.
W. Chris Green is Chief Commercial Officer of Maryland-based Chesapeake Hospitality, which ranks among the top 30 largest independent operators in the industry, specializing in upper-midscale, upscale and upper-upscale hotels.
Green brings more than a quarter-century of hospitality-operations experience to Chesapeake’s corporate team, including close to a decade in the field at various Chesapeake-managed properties. As chief commercial officer, he is responsible for all strategic direction for the operation, implementation and performance of Chesapeake Hospitality’s business services, helping it deliver industry-leading financial results across a wide range of markets and hospitality concepts, a strategy the company has been utilizing for 60 years.
John Lancet is a Senior Managing Director of the HVS Miami, Fla., office. During his 20-plus years with HVS, Lancet has appraised and/or consulted on more than 1,000 hotels, resorts, vacation ownership and mixed-use developments located in 22 states and 26 countries. Prior to joining HVS, the executive gained operating experience from several hotels in South Florida and worked as a regional manager for a major timeshare company. Lancet is a certified general real estate appraiser in Florida and holds MAI designation with the Appraisal Institute. HVS is a global company that assists hotel owners, developers, investors, lenders, management companies and public agencies with any aspect of financing, developing, owning, or operating a hospitality property, and specializes in valuations.
Bharat Patel is a veteran hotelier who leads Sarasota, Fla.-based Sunny Enterprises of Florida, LLC. He serves as Florida Regional Director for AAHOA and is the Florida Region Ambassador for this Regional Conference and Trade Show.
