Stefani C. O'Connor, Editor-in-Chief at Questex Hospitality Group, is an award-winning journalist. She brings more than 20 years’ industry experience to Hotel Management. Most recently, O’Connor served as Executive News Editor at Hotel Business magazine as well as Managing Editor of the magazine's National Executive Roundtable Series, which, with support of such partners as The Wall Street Journal, brought together executives from the hospitality arena and allied businesses to discuss current issues of importance. Prior to joining Hotel Business, O'Connor was Senior Editor at Business Travel News and previous to that was Editor-in-Chief of Hotel & Resort Industry magazine.

O’Connor also has brought her expertise to numerous venues, serving as a panelist and moderator across a range of national conferences, including the New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, Hunter Hotel Investment Conference, The Lodging Conference and the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers (NABHOOD) Summit.

Rajiv Trivedi, President of La Quinta Brands Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, is a senior hotel and franchising executive with 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He is responsible for all facets of franchising, including sales, services and administration and also has significant experience in franchising and development including acquisitions, Design & Construction, Purchasing, Office Services, and Real Estate. Rajiv assumed his new position on June 1, 2018.

In just over a decade, he has spearheaded the growth of the La Quinta system to more than 900 franchised properties – an unprecedented growth rate in the hotel industry, and beyond. He has been responsible for real estate transactions of nearly $2 billion.


In November 2000, Mr. Trivedi joined La Quinta as VP/Franchise Operations, where he was responsible for designing and implementing the company’s franchising program, managing franchise sales, services, administration and training. He was promoted to Senior Franchise Development Officer in 2004 and, upon the acquisition of La Quinta by an affiliate of the Blackstone Group, was promoted to his current position as Executive Vice President. In February 2009, he was also named Chief Development Officer.

Biran Patel is the Treasurer of AAHOA, the voice of America’s hotel owners. He has been an active member of the association since 2001 and has served on AAHOA’s board of directors since 2014. 

A native of Birmingham, England, Biran is a second-generation hotelier who started learning the hospitality business as a teenager in the family owned hotel. He earned a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. 

Today, Biran owns and operates multiple branded and independent hotel properties and is also a partner in BHP Investment Company.     

Biran plays an active role in his community and has been involved with the Irving City Chamber of Commerce for the past 5 years. He is actively involved in the Leuva Patidar Samaj (LPS) local chapter, SLPS. Biran has also served on the board of directors of the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association since 2014.   

Biran currently resides in Irving, Texas with his wife, Poonam, and their two children.

Jeffrey W. Binford, CHA is a Director in CBRE Hotels Consulting, a subsidiary of the CBRE Group, Inc. (NYSE:CBG) based in Dallas.  Mr. Binford has over 40 years in the hospitality industry with diverse disciplines, including market feasibility, appraisal, franchise and management agreements, individual and multi-property management, asset management, and individual and mixed-use hospitality developments. Mr. Binford works with many clients as Advisor, Receiver, Property Manager and Asset Manager.

Mr. Binford began his hospitality career operating full-service hotels under differing brand names, sizes and geographic locations.  He was part of multiple pre-opening teams for hotels from 300–2,000 rooms, both as temporary and permanent management positions. His detailed understanding of operations coupled with his expertise in forecasting and budgeting, allows Binford to consistently achieve top profits and service scores. 


Prior to CBRE Hotels, Binford served as Managing Director of an international hospitality consulting firm, directly responsible for a portfolio of distressed assets. He also served as Vice President of Development for two large franchise and management organizations, responsible for franchising new-construction developments under multiple brands and soliciting third-party management agreements. His efforts resulted in multi-year awards for both quality and quantity franchise developments with highest per-unit sales.  He also previously served as Senior Manager for Pannell Kerr Forster in Dallas.

Raj Chudasama, Managing Partner at Kriya Hotels, brings professional experience in the Technology, Hospitality, and Investment Finance sectors. His expertise include all areas of finance including acquisition, disposition, refinance, and financial statement analysis. He is also involved in the day-to-day operations of all assets, hotel revenue management, and franchise relationships.

Before joining Kriya Hotels, he was in IT Project Management for Fortune 500 clients of Computer Sciences Corporation. Raj’s formal education includes a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from The University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business. His Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, from California State University, Long Beach.
